This Privacy Policy explains how the SpotOn app ("SpotOn", "the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information. By using the app, you agree to the practices described below.

Age Requirement

SpotOn is intended for users aged 18 and older. The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it.

Who Uses SpotOn

SpotOn is used by two types of users: trainees, who record and track their workouts, and coaches, who review their trainees' activity. Some features described below apply only to one type of user, as noted.

Information We Collect

Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and basic account details.
Camera and video data: The app uses your device's camera to detect your body pose during workouts. Video recorded during workouts is uploaded to and stored on our cloud storage to provide the app's exercise-analysis features and to allow you (and, for a trainee, their coach) to review workouts.
Body-pose and workout data: We collect body-pose data (movement landmarks derived from the camera), along with workout information such as exercises performed, repetitions, scores, duration, and related performance metrics. This is health- and fitness-related data.
Coach voice recordings (coaches only, optional): Coaches may optionally record a sample of their own voice to create a personalized voice for coaching feedback. This is entirely optional and applies only to coaches who choose to use it.
Technical data: We may collect basic technical information such as device type and app usage needed to operate and improve the service.

How We Use Your Information

To provide the app's core features, including camera-based body-pose detection and workout analysis.
To create and manage your account.
To store and display your workout history and progress.
To allow coaches to review the workouts of their own trainees.
To generate coaching feedback and, for coaches who opt in, personalized voice audio.
To maintain, improve, and troubleshoot the app.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

SpotOn uses artificial intelligence to analyze workout and body-pose data and to generate coaching feedback. AI processing is used to provide direct benefit to you as a user. We do not use your data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Camera and Video

The app requests access to your camera solely to detect your body pose during exercises. Video captured during workouts is transmitted to and stored on our cloud storage. Your workout videos are private: a trainee can access only their own videos, and a coach can access only the videos of their own trainees. We do not sell your videos, and your videos are not sent to third-party AI providers.

Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate the app. We share only the data necessary for each service to function. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy, linked below:

Cloud storage (Backblaze B2): Used to store workout videos and related media, accessed through temporary, secured links. Privacy policy: backblaze.com/company/privacy.html
Google Gemini: Used to help generate coaching feedback and analysis. We send text and workout-related data to this service. We do not send your video to Gemini. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
ElevenLabs: Used to generate voice audio for coaching feedback. For coaches who opt in to a personalized voice, a voice sample they record is processed by ElevenLabs to create that voice. Trainees' data is not used for voice cloning. Privacy policy: elevenlabs.io/privacy

Data Storage and Security

Your data, including recorded workout videos, is stored on our servers and cloud storage. Access to your videos and workout data is restricted so that only you (and, for a trainee, your coach) can access it. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes. We share data only: (a) with the third-party service providers listed above, as necessary to operate the app; (b) between a trainee and their own coach, as part of the app's core function; or (c) where required by law.

Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your personal data, including stored videos.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Upon such a request, we will delete your personal data, including stored videos, from our systems, subject to any limited retention required by law.

Data Processing Locations

Some of your information is processed by the third-party providers listed above, whose servers may be located outside your country. By using the app, you understand that your data may be processed in such locations to provide the service.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
